"I found Leszek after spending almost 3 months with another vocal coach. Though I was a complete novice at singing, I suspected my previous instructor was not doing a good job. I am very glad I decided to look around. After working with Leszek for merely a month I made enormous progress. It was night and day. Leszek gave me vocal exercises that not only made sense from an explanation point of view but I could feel immediately working as soon as I started doing them.
Working with Leszek and seeing what was possible just filled me with rage at my previous instructor having wasted 3 months of my life.
The great things about working with Leszek is that he tries to get you to that minimum bar of vocal ability as quickly as possible so you actually do not cringe when listening to recordings of yourself. All the fluff, optimizations, effects, and enhancements are put aside, as are more targeted exercises aimed at perfecting technique.
What you learn is the core of technique to actually sing; proper use of your registers, proper ear training so your brain can immediately start rewiring itself to actually consistently invoke the correct notes, and of course rhythm. That is the minimum bar. The correct note in the correct time. I achieved this in a month and even more.
I was able to sing high notes safely; not everything that is certainly in my potential but high enough where people simply do not recognize my voice from a recording because they never heard me making such sounds.
Leszek is an active opera singer. He trains you in the classical methodology not for that opera sound but for the power of the opera voice.
I would fully endorse him. I still have a long way to go with my singing but when I sing in front of people no one is thinking I am untrained. I sound like a singer, mediocre one, but a singer; all in just over a month.
I practiced 15min 4 days a week and then had my weekly lesson to get to this level. 15min is all it takes when you are doing the right things. Your voice won't be able to take more than 15min at the start anyways.
We weary of who you take lessons from and if you think you're not making decent progress move on to another instructor.
If you are currently taking vocal lessons with someone you should try Leszek out just to double check your current instructor is not the actual reason you are not making progress.
